Before you use the Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room you must read and agree to our terms and conditions. By registering and entering into the Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room you are agreeing to the terms and conditions.
The terms and conditions are there to provide young people with guidelines when using the Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room. Connexions Direct aims to ensure that all young people who use the moderated chat room can do so safely and we hope that you enjoy your visit.
Internet Safety
For your own safety, we do not allow chat room users to give out personal details such as phone numbers, addresses, email addresses or information about your family or friends.
In order for you to register to use the Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room you will need to provide your email address but this is only to enable you to use the chat room, your email address will not be shared with anyone.
Any feedback you can give us is kept confidential* and is only used to improve our service to you. The Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room does not allow you to send private messages to other users. All messages posted on the Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room will be visible to other chat room users.

Messages on the moderated chat room
The following rules apply to all messages posted on the Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room.
- Connexions Direct does not allow swearing or offensive language. This includes language that is considered to be abusive, racially offensive, threatening or inappropriate sexual language.
- Please be respectful of other people using the Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room to ensure that everyone can enjoy using the Chat Room safely.
- Use an appropriate user name. Usernames that contain offensive language are not allowed.
If you post a message, which is not related in any way to the chat room topic, the moderator may not post your message on this occasion; however you can contact an adviser separately to discuss your own enquiry on a one to one basis. Advisers can be contacted by Adviser Online, email, telephone or SMS text message, full details can be found on the Connexions Direct communications channel page
- The Connexions Direct Moderated Chat Room is aimed at young people aged 13-19, up to age 25 with a disability. If you are not within this age range please do not use the chat room. If you contact us through Adviser Online, email, telephone or SMS text message, (full details can be found on the Connexions Direct home page), we may be able to direct you to sources of information more appropriate to you.
Breaking the terms and conditions
If you don’t follow the terms and conditions, the moderator can stop you from using the service. The moderator will tell you why you have been stopped and how long you will be unable to use the service for.
Connexions Direct can block or remove any message if it is considered inappropriate.
